It became official with the signing of my direct deposit papers today. I will begin my Graduate Assistantship this fall at ETSU. What this means is that I will continue to work with the Financial Aid Office, only for 20 hours a week, while ETSU foots the bill for my tuition.

I’m very excited about going back to school, especially since I’m not ready for the real world just yet. Within a couple of years, I hope to earn a Master’s degree. I feel like I’m starting over and I’ve never been so motivated to go to school. I can’t wait for this newest endeavor in the life of Ima to begin.

I’ve been really blessed over the past several weeks and have been riding an incredible high. I quit a job that was making me absolutely miserable (Citi) and now I’ve got my G.A. (and there’s no way I could’ve afforded classes without that).

I have also been truly blessed with great people surrounding me. Homegirl Erin has always been one such person. She doesn’t read this site, but I have to give her all the thanks in the world. It was because of her recommendation that I received the temp job in the Financial Aid Office to begin with. I don’t know that I can possibly express how grateful I am for this, as this G.A. position will allow me to do something I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time.

Soon I’ll begin furthering my education (again), and I’m definitely looking forward to it. I haven't felt this good in a long time. Things are looking up for ‘Ol Ima!









Now if I can only figure out this Pimp Hand…
