Why Should I Be Worried?
Well, my work schedule changes tomorrow, and this proves to be of a great concern to me.
Why? Because I go from the high schooler shift of 6-11 pm to 3-8 pm. At first, I thought I'd love the new shift. I'd have a some semblance of a day, but also an evening as well.
HOWEVER, this past week I've slept past 1 'o clock every day. Now, without going into too much detail, I'll just say that 'ol Ima is worse than a woman when it comes to getting ready. When I was on my 6-11 shift, the latest I would get ready is 4:30....i take my time in the shower and like to rest afterwards.
Now the 6-11 shift has truly screwed up my sleeping habits. There's been times where i actually sleep until 2 or 3 in the afternoon because I'll be up until 6, watching the shit TV has to offer (as mentioned in a previous post). No more of that....I'm gonna have to hit the hay by 4:30 now so I won't be worrying my ass off about oversleeping for a 3 o' clock shift!
I know that's absolutely pathetic to worry about oversleeping for a start time of 3, but keep in mind that I've only known one sleep schedule since I've been out of school (then again, what I know now was pretty much my sleep schedule then, too).
I've worked at Citi for a while now, and I know there's something up. And, of course, the employees aren't getting the full story. They've eliminated third shift for my department. However, they made everyone change their schedules.
Now, why would everyone have to change their schedules if the elimination of third shift only affects a handful of employees? Hmmm.....very interesting....
Recently, two supervisors have quit and the "powers that be" are not replacing them. This is of interest to me as well, and peaks my curiousity.
Now, I shouldn't complain. I am fortunate to have this job, and I only worry about this stuff because of concern with it. I was one of the lucky few who actually got to select the schedule they wanted, as it was based on seniority. Newer full-time employees got the "death sentence" of a 5:30 pm-2 am shift. Yikes!
Anyway, I haven't posted in a while, so I figured I would.
Congrats to Ernie and good luck to ya, man! I know that everything will be fine.
Take it easy, ya'll!
