VERY Bad Santa

It takes A LOT to offend ‘ol Ima, but I think this one did it.

I’m sure you guys have already seen this, but this is absolutely appalling to me. In Manhattan, a couple of fuckshits put this display of Santa Claus outside of their home. Just despicable. Apparently the couple put this display outside their home to symbolically comment on the commercialization of Christmas. They said that they were upset at how Christmas has gone from a religious holiday to just a reason to get shoppers into the stores and spending money. They have a right to feel this way…I’m sure many feel this way, but there are other ways to show it. Everyone treats and celebrates the holidays in their own ways. I feel that if someone wants to celebrate the holidays and put an emphasis on the religious implications of it then that is a great thing. Someone else may not. Those that truly do want to celebrate the religious aspect of Christmas would not pull a stunt like this. I’m all for free speech, but I can’t help but think about the kids that would see this thing. I personally think the assholes that set this up just wanted their names mentioned on the six o’clock news. It would be one thing to put up a vulgar display to get your point across, like a mutilated cow or some shit. However, to involve an iconic figure that is adored by millions of children all over the world is WAY overboard. This isn’t the first controversy surrounding a murderous St. Nick. Back in 1984, trailers for the horror flick “Silent Night, Deadly Night” showed a villainous Kringle violently slaughtering victims. I really have no problem with the movie “Bad Santa,” as I don’t really think kids would be drawn to that and responsible parents could shield their kids from seeing the movie. However, this display in New York would be a little more difficult to keep from the view of children, as numerous people would pass by it on their way from point A to point B. It enraged one onlooker to the point that he went onto the estate where the display was set up and tore it down. Of course, he got in trouble for trespassing onto private property. I suppose he kinda feels like I do…that a blood-drenched Claus with decapitated head in tow isn’t exactly for everyone. If people have a problem with Christmas and how it is celebrated then they should buy air time or write an editorial to the local paper…just don’t fuck with Santa.

p.s.- And that was my impression of a concerned citizen....this is actually kinda twistedly funny.
