Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on YouTube?!

There was a time in his life in which ‘ol Ima was a rabid fan of professional wrestling. That’s no secret. I just grew out of it. However, when I first started playing around with the YouTube website, looking up old wrestling clips was the first thing that came to mind. In this post, I figured I’d share a few that I have viewed. Just click on the links to check out the vids.

* First off is this guy. No matter how into wrestling I was, I NEVER took it this seriously.

* Next up is the infamous Shockmaster incident. After Fred “Tugboat” Ottman jumped ship from the WWF in 1993, he decided to set sail in the waters of the WCW. Once again, Ottman would immediately align himself with the top face of the company, Sting, in much the same way he did with Hulk Hogan in the WWF. However, Tugboat (now calling himself the Shockmaster) would find the seas of WCW stormy from the start. The Shockmaster was set to be debuted during the 1993 Clash of the Champions as the mystery partner of Sting, Dustin Rhodes, and Davey Boy Smith in a match scheduled for that year’s Fall Brawl against the Harlem Heat, Big Van Vader, and Sid Vicious. So, at the Clash of the Champions, as Ric Flair is interviewing Sting and Davey Boy, Sid Vicious and the Harlem Heat come in to disrupt things. What better time to unveil a mystery partner? This video is that famous debut of the Shockmaster.

Yep, you saw that correctly. The poor bastard tripped and fell. On his WCW debut no less. To add insult to injury, his glitter-covered Stormtrooper lid came flying off revealing the man who was once Tugboat. But it wasn’t over after the fall. That terrible voiceover was the vocal talents of none other than Ole Anderson. So, not only did this guy have one of the the worst getups and voiceovers in wrestling history, but he also had the most memorably bad entrance. The most impressive thing Sid Vicious ever did during his shitty career was managing to keep a straight face and staying in character after witnessing all this.

* Next up is a blooper from “the King of Harts” Owen Hart. At the 1994 Royal Rumble, Owen and his brother Bret were set to face the Quebecers in a Tag Title match. Well, Bret injured his leg and Owen and Bret had to forfeit the match due to Bret not being able to continue. The loss incensed Owen and he kicked Bret’s freshly injured leg and stormed to the backstage area. As Bret was being helped to the back, Owen appeared on the TitanTron and delivered this message to his wounded brother.

I love Owen’s reaction after realizes what he has just said. It’s classic. However, all this would set up one of the best moments from any Wrestlemania. At that year’s Wrestlemania, Bret was to face Yokozuna in the main event for the title. However, he had to square off against Owen first. Well, Owen won his match with Bret, and it’s a damn good match if I might add my two cents. Owen celebrates like he’s King of the World since he’s just defeated his big brother. However, Bret would go on to defeat Yokozuna for the title. As all the company’s face wrestlers came out to celebrate with Bret, a dejected Owen looks on as Bret has once again stolen his thunder and the spotlight.

* Now for one of my favorite promos ever. It’s the “Dustydust” video from Monday Night Raw from a few years ago. Bruce Pritchard’s impression of Dusty Rhodes is so fucking over-the-top, that it ends up being perfect. Then, Dusty’s son, Dustin, also known as Goldust, joins in the mockery. Of course, Bradshaw proceeds to kick his ass. This is one of the most memorable clips from my wrestling-fan days. So watch this clip, if you weeeeeeel!

* And I saved my favorite for last. This is a promo of David Schultz and “Mean” Gene Okerland from AWA. What I gather is that Schultz is trying to start a feud with Hulk Hogan. This is too hilarious. I would easily rank this in the top 25 funniest things I’ve ever seen. Over the years, I have seen Mean Gene do a lot of promos, but I would have to say that this is by far the best. His reaction to Schultz is priceless. Click here to watch.

I never really saw Dave Schultz wrestle, but I found the previous clip so entertaining that I searched for other clips of him and found a couple. In this one, I discover that David Schultz and my dad are quite possibly the same person.

You heard Mean Gene refer to him as Dave “the Redneck” Schultz. Well, this moniker would prove to be all too true. Here’s a clip of Schultz actually beating the shit out of a reporter. This incident would get him fired from the WWF and pretty much end his career in the squared circle.

Hope you guys enjoyed these if you’d never seen them. If you had, I hope they brought back some memories of when wrestling was fun. I’ll continue to search for more clips and will post them if I find some classics such as these.

Dude, I almost peed my pants laughing at these hilarious videos. I can't believe we watched this shit. Whenever you, me, or anyone else is feeling bad about themselves, we can always watch the video of the WWF Loser. Wow. How pathetic. Thanks for the Owen Hart clip too, one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen. I didn't even know about Tugboat going to WCW then...what a cheesy mask...haha! Thanks again.
