I lied...Here's Some 2006-2007 NBA Predictions

I swore I wasn't going to do this...but fuck it. I have to redeem myself after getting NOT ONE prediction from last year correct. So here goes:

  • Rookie of the Year: Brandon Roy - the Trailblazers really, really suck. However, out of the eight guards they have on the roster, this kid will stand out. Who else they got? Darius Miles?

  • Most Improved: Jameer Nelson - it's not that he didn't already kick some ass last year, but he'll win this award this year because the Magic are gonna make waves and his name will be out there.

  • Defensive Player: Dwight Howard - the Magic are my trendy ice pick this year. Dwight Howard is the next Garnett. He's a future MVP. He's got the coolest nickname in basketball (the "Daily Double", because this mean bastard nets a double-double about every night). He should lead the league in rebounding and be toward the tops in blocks. He'll edge out Kirilenko for this award. Behind Elton Brand, this may be my second biggest man-crush on an NBA player.

  • Coach of the Year: Brian Hill - too many Orlando picks? Probably so, but this team is going places. Hill will win this because he'll be taking such a young squad into playoffs.

  • Sixth Man: Shaun Livingston - this thing is always a crap shoot. I'm just picking Livingston because the starter, Sam Cassell, is so fucking ugly.

  • MVP: LeBron James - not exactly going out on a limb here. The Cavs were a 50 win team last year, and they'll better that this year. LeBron has shown he's worthy of this and will win hands down.

Here's my prediction for the playoffs (I'm bound to get at least a couple of these right since over half the league makes the playoffs):

West- East

1. San Antonio - Detroit

2. Dallas - New Jersey

3. Phoenix - Cleveland

4. LA Clippers - Miami

5. Denver - Orlando

6. Houston - Chicago

7. LA Lakers - Washington

8. Utah - Philadelphia

And the winner is....The Phoenix Suns. They're too high powered, Nash does make everybody better (I could average a double-double for the Suns) and Stoudemire is back. Marion is completely underrated and 10 times the player that sorry fucker Scottie Pippen ever was. There's just too much on offense to like here. So Nash will get a third consecutive MVP trophy this year.....this time Finals MVP.

You really need to go check out Bill Simmons' latest article on ESPN.com's Page 2. Funny if you're still a Celtic fan...haha.

You need a category of first coach to get canned...I'm betting it will be Doc Rivers...haha. Maybe Isiah will fire himself. That would be interesting.

Seriously, what franchises in the NBA are more embarrassing than the Celtics and Knicks at the moment? Sheesh...

The Grizzlies are pretty bad...and how dare Kurt Warner talk shit to me...he was supposed to be an MVP candidate!

Ya know what the Celtics' problem is? For the first time ever, they have cheerleaders. When you trade tradition for tits and ass, you almost deserve to lose.
