Celebrity Justice???

Posted by Hello

If it wasn’t so before, it’s now officially official: if you live in the vicinity of the Los Angeles area and have appeared in movies or on television for .6 nanoseconds, you can get away with killing your spouse. Once again, a murderer walks in Hollywood.

This really pisses me off. Robert Blake put a bullet through the head of his wife, but, in yet another redundant Hollywood story, nothing comes of it. He gets to go home. Celebrities or people that have managed to hold some semblance of fame in their lives, no matter how brief, can get away with anything.

White-coifed Blake, 71 and former star of TV’s “Baretta,” was acquitted of murdering his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, this past Wednesday. Blake's acquittal came despite his history of spats with Bakley and his psychotic desire to keep their daughter away from her.

The pathetic pieces of shit that were selected as jury members arrived at the decision to acquit Blake. Jurors said that there wasn’t enough physical evidence to convict him. The foreman said “[the prosecution] just couldn’t place the gun in his hand.”

The Robert Blake trial has got to be one of the BIGGEST jokes in the history of the legal system. There were no other suspects, and, in my opinion, the evidence against Blake is quite damning. However, I can only fathom the juror selection process for these Hollywood trials. I imagine both the D.A. and defense ask a potential juror the same, one question during the interview process. That question is probably “no matter how overwhelming the evidence against them, will you acquit this person that is on trial?” If the possible juror answers “yes,” they will then receive the approval of the D.A. and defense as a juror. That’s the only way I imagine that these ‘celebrities’ get away with this shit.

No one else had reason to kill Bakley. Blake was the A-1 suspect. And there’s a plenty of evidence against him. Enough evidence for anyone with any sense to see that he’s guilty as all hell.

Blake claims that he and Bakley walked a couple of blocks from a restaurant to his car after eating there in May 2001. Blake also said that he left his .38-caliber gun in the restaurant and went back to retrieve it. He then stated that when he returned to the car, he found Bakley lying there with a gunshot wound to the head. Well, there was a 17 minute period in which he had to shoot her…plenty of time to commit murder if you ask me.

Well, gunpowder was found on Blake’s hand after the shooting. But apparently that’s not evidence. I mean, I’m sure anyone that has just found someone dead from a gunshot would is bound to have gunpowder on them. Hell, anyone at anytime could have traces of gunpowder on them! (that’s sarcasm, by the way)

The defense also said that none of Bakley’s blood spattered on Blake. Ya know, that’s one of the fucking amazing things about guns…you can kill someone at a distance.

Plus, jurors didn’t buy that Blake had attempted to hire a hit man to kill his wife, despite testimony to the contrary.

I must admit I’m not shocked by Blake’s acquittal. It was to be expected. We’ve all seen this before with the absurdity that was the O.J. Simpson trial. In fact, after Blake’s arrest, Simpson came out and publicly supported Blake, saying something to the effect of “I know what this is like…I can relate to what he’s going through.” Good to see murderers stick together and have each other’s backs. I wonder if we’ll see Blake searching for the “real killer” on a Southern California golf course anytime soon.

These trials seem to follow a pattern. Like Simpson, Blake was acquitted of the murder of his spouse. However, he better get ready to shell out some serious dough once he loses the civil case that is pending against him. However, there’s NO way that these civil cases can be considered justice. The murderer is just out a few dollars but still maintains their freedom.

I feel that Blake’s acquittal is truly a sad statement on the state of our legal system in the United States. It’s quite obvious that justice was not served, and it’s becoming the norm in these Hollywood trials. That's right...it's now "old hat" to see celebrities get away with criminal activities that the "average" person would be quickly buried for.

So, I guess no one should be surprised when Michael Jackson gets off for “getting off” to little boys…it's coming soon to a Hollywood courtroom near you!
